January 15, 2027

Special Enrollment
A qualifying life event — job change, marriage, new baby — opens a 60-day Special Enrollment Period, any time of year.
Please Note: Plan options and pricing for 2027 will not be available to view until November 1, 2026.
New for 2027, before I can access your application, you have to authorize me directly. The Marketplace will send a code to the phone number or email address on file, and you give it to me. I'll enter it, and we're set. The code expires in 15 minutes, and you only get three attempts in a 24-hour period.
This is a good change — it's what stops someone from getting into your application without your say-so. It only becomes a problem when the contact information on file is out of date, because then the code goes somewhere you can't reach. One more reason to make sure I have your current phone and email.
Good news, authorization lasts the plan year, so we won't repeat it every time we talk or something needs updating.
One Thing to Note: You can only have one agent at a time. If you authorize a different agent, that person becomes your agent and I'm removed from your application. Same the other way around — if you've already authorized someone else this year, authorizing me removes them.
Identity Verification: Proving You’re You
Some applications need an extra ID check before I can be authorized. It doesn't mean anything is wrong — it's just a category, and the reasons are ordinary. Your application may need one if:
It's a brand new application
You're applying in a different state than last year
You pay $30 a month or less after your subsidy
You're switching to a new agent
If you need it, the check happens automatically and most people pass in seconds. If it doesn't go through, there are other ways to verify — and I'll stay with you the whole time.
What’s New in the Enrollment Process
Contact Information: Is Yours Current?
After October 12th I can no longer update your contact information (address, phone & email). After that date , you will have to do it yourself by calling the Marketplace directly at 1-800-318-2596 or logging into your HealthCare.Gov account. Keep in mind that during Open Enrollment wait times sometimes stretch past 2 hours.
Let's take care of it now. Call, text, email or complete the intake form so I can make sure your application is up to date before your appointment.
Agent Authorization: Approving Me to Help You
Carrier Changes for 2027: Who’s Leaving, Who’s Coming
Every year some insurance companies leave the Marketplace and others join. This year there are more leaving than usual.
This is important: if your company is leaving, your plan does not automatically continue. You have to pick a new one during Open Enrollment. If you don't, the Marketplace will assign you to a plan it chooses — which may not cover your doctors or your prescriptions.
Leaving or Reducing Footprint for Plan Year 2027
Cigna — Leaving the Marketplace entirely in all 11 states where it sells plans, including Florida, Georgia, Texas, Tennessee, Mississippi, North Carolina, and Indiana. About 369,000 people affected.
Baylor Scott & White Health Plan — Discontinuing coverage in Texas, affecting about 100,000 members.
CareSource —Stopping plans in Ohio, Indiana, and West Virginia (continuing coverage in Georgia, Nevada, and Wisconsin).
Medica — Discontinuing coverage in Iowa, Kansas and Oklahoma.
Cox HealthPlans — leaving the Missouri Marketplace.
Carrier Expanding or Entering for Plan Year 2027
Antidote Health — Joining Georgia and Texas.
AmeriHealth Caritas — Joining Indiana.
See your company on the list above? Let's get you into a new plan before the deadline. Schedule a time and we'll go through your options.
